What is Organic Coconut Oil?

Coconut Oil is a favourite whether spread on toast or crackers, added to smoothies or used for cooking and, unlike vegetable oils, it is one of the safest and healthiest cooking oils as it is heat stable and does not create toxic trans-fats when heated. Our coconut oil is not only organic but has also been gently deodorised so that it can be used without imparting the coconut flavour and taste to all your dishes! Perfect for baking, stir-frying, roasting and saute cooking, you can enjoy all the benefits of virgin coconut oil but without the coconut taste and aroma. Coconut oil is rich in medium chain triglycerides (MCTs) which are easily digestible and have a completely different profile in the body to animal sourced saturated fats. They are an excellent source of energy and can even be used as part of a weight management programme. They also contain lauric and octanoic acid.

Why is ours better?

Our Organic Coconut Oil has been gently deodorised using low temperatures of around 40 degrees celsius, under vacuum conditions, enabling the gentle removal of compounds which give the coconut butter it’s distinctive smell and flavour. This low temperature process means that the oil still retains its fatty acid profile and its beneficial properties.

Who is this for?

Anyone looking for a safe and healthy alternative to butter, margarine or easily rancified vegetable oils. A versatile oil that can be heated to high temperatures without creating toxic trans fats. At room temperature coconut oil becomes semi-solid, making a great non-dairy alternative to margarine or butter. If using in this way it is best kept out of the refrigerator for half to one hour to soften. It can also be used to coat meat, poultry or vegetables for roasting. It can even be added to smoothies!
